During an experiment in 1952 a spontaneous cultural innovation was observed among a group of monkeys on the island of Koshima in Japan. The studies indicated that a specific set of circumstances led to an ideological breakthrough or "paradigm shift" in the behavior of the entire population of monkeys.
To the amazement of the scientists, when a certain number of monkeys reached a critical mass, the learned behavior was spread almost instantaneously to monkeys on the surrounding islands that were not part of the experiment.
Thus it was proven that as a critical number achieves an awareness, this new awareness may be communicated from mind to mind through what science is coming to understand as a morphogenic field that encompasses all of humanity.
